TiVo with a Twist: Ways to Enhance the TiVo Experience – PVR Wire JJ Hawkins over at PVRWire has an article out on a wishlist on ways to trick out your TiVo experience. He is obviously a complete TiVo fanatic and points out some of the best things to do with your TiVo that you might not already be doing and even more important what TiVo should be doing to make their product even better:
“That being said, as much as I love my TiVo, I still have a few suggestions for the service that would make it all the more enjoyable in my eyes.
Will you agree with them all? Definitely not. Are some of the suggestions a little crazy? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
If anything, the ideas will foster some conversation on ways to improve what most people already feel is a perfect product.”
There are also some good comments and other suggestions from PVRWire readers at the end of the article.
One of the things in the article JJ suggests is that TiVo allow multi-viewing from a single TiVo box. This is a great idea and probably why in part I’ll be going with a Media Center PC instead of a TiVo. Being able to stream a Media Center PC from my home office throughout multiple rooms in my home through XBox 360 units is really slick. The idea of a central server that serves up thin client slave units with content throught the house is a good one.
I hope TiVo listens JJ’s suggestions and implements some of them.
That sounds interesting. I love playing with electronic toys too. Now if I only had the time to watch everything the technology makes possible… :o)
