Microsoft and Nikon Sign Deal

Microsoft and Nikon sign a broad PCL agreement:

From arstechnica:

“The deal, which gives each company access to the other’s patents, was signed by representatives from both companies at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond. The contents of the agreement have not been disclosed, but it is known that Microsoft is being compensated by Nikon in some form. Both companies believe that the PCL agreement will help improve their separate consumer electronics offerings since both will be possible to innovate openly with each others’ technologies.”

Not quite sure what this will mean exactly yet, but interesting to note.
