  1. Back around 2002 a friend found one of my images used in a magazine, the ©mikepanic.com watermark I put on it in Photoshop was printed. After trying for several hours to call the magazines editor / photo editor, I finally got one of the secratary’s to give me the EIC’s cell phone – which I think they gave me by accident. He was pretty nice to me about it after I explained what had happened and offered some compensation, ironicly he too blamed a crappy intern. I did search for and contact a copyright attorney just in case, they basicly told me that in order to get any sort of money, I would need an establised record of similar images that I’ve sold and for how much. He said in most cases, his fees would cost more than any money recovered for damages.
