Dave Sifry’s State of the Blogosphere

Technorati Weblog: State of the Blogosphere, October, 2006: Dave Sifry does a great job keeping us all up to date with where the blogosphere is going and with the statistics that make up the blogs that Technorati tracks.

The good news is that Dave and Technorati seem to be making great strides in filtering out the spam blogs that clog up our blogging world. I for one have noticed that it is increasingly rare that I see any spam blogs in Technorati linking to me anymore. Spam blogs used to just make random nonsense that would link to me months back, but I can’t remember the last time I saw a blog like that.

Blogging is still going very strong from a worldwide perspective. Technorati now tracks more than 57 million blogs and is increasingly becoming a global venture. According to Dave, the blogosphere is doubling in size approximately every 230 days. It should also come as no surprise that the most linked too and popular bloggers are the one who post the most.

Thanks Dave for keeping us up to date with these valuable quarterly updates of yours.
