Ed Bott’s Media Central, Songbird As much as I like Windows Media Player I’ve been frustrated to no end by what a horrible job it does at handling large digital media libraries. Matt Goyer said a while back that things will improve in Vista but I haven’t been able to test this out yet for myself in Vista as I’e found the builds of MCE Vista that I’ve tested still too unstable to test.
If WMP does not improve significantly though and if the beta for WMP 11 is not released before December, could Songbird quickly become the Firefox of the Media Player world?
It will be interesting to see how this new open source player Songbird handles large media libraries. Apparently Songbird will be released in December.
