Mike Davidson: Major Tivo Withdrawals Mike Davidson does a side by side table style comparison between his former DirecTV with TiVo and his new Comcast HD PVR. His conclusion regarding the Comcast DVR? “I now understand why every household doesn’t have a DVR — because mainstream DVRs, in and of themselves, suuuuuuuck.” Apparently he is using the Comcast 6412 box with Microsoft’s Foundation software on it. In the end he decides to tolerate the Foundation box but he’s not happy about it. “I have decided to tolerate this Comcast box with Microsoft interface until a more Tivo-like product is available, but I’m definitely not happy about it.”
