Labels, Microsoft in talks on CD copying | CNET News.com: As far as I’m concerned I’d never purchase a CD that didn’t allow it to be ripped and included in my digital library. The labels can make them all they want, I just won’t buy them. The day that Microsoft begins to disallow CD ripping is the day I switch operating systems.

    So Redmond is in bed with big media now. As soon as they figured out they could make money on the digitization of music, they move to create monopolistic control over it. Maybe Gates and Jobs are more similar then they realized.
