InfoWorld: Microsoft to detail Media Center updates on Oct. 12: It looks like Media Center 2005 is set to debut October 12th. Stay tuned for more details. via Microsoft Watch. It’s interesting that the article references HDTV being available in the MCE 2005 but does not cite a source. This lends a little more credibility to the previous PVR Blog article that MCE 2005 will support HDTV. Hopefully more details will emerge shortly and hopefully the HDTV support will include more than just OTA (over the air) and will include cable and satellite HDTV receivers as well.
It would be nice to hear from Microsoft officially on this as well as how they will handle the upgrades for existing users.
