Engadget has a write up on people that rip the CDs that hotels are putting in New York rooms. The concept of ripping the complimentary “for in room play only” CDs is part of an ongoing trend where digital music collectors will rip not only CDs they find in hotel rooms, but CDs that they find anywhere that they go. Part of the reason for this is the hatred that the RIAA and record labels have heaped upon themselves by going after their fans with hard nosed tactics.
