NickStarr.com : Nick Starr dot com ? FlickrLicio.us expands (XXX & SFW) Nick Starr’s FlickrLicio.us is a hit. His traffic has gone nuts and so he’s adding two new sites and two twists to the Flickr babe game. Nick’s newest offerings will include a XXX version of FlickrLicio.us and a Safe for Work version. The main FlickrLicio.us site as always will not contain nudity but with the two new offerings viewers will now have three different ways to consume their diet of FlickrLicious. As they say in Hollywood, Different Strokes for Different Folks.

Flickr is having a Flickr Fiesta party at their new digs at Yahoo! on Monday, September 19th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Sounds like fun. I’m planning on going.

Phototalk points us to some free stock photography industry analysis from Jim Pickerell. The analysis is courtesy of Jupiter Media CEO Alan Meckler. The analysis analyzes Getty Images’ future.

“Getty had revenues in 2004 of $ 34.2m from footage sales; these were effectively 5.5% of the total revenues of $ 622.4m (the average license fee for a clip of stock footage was $ 629 with a final 2004 quarter rise of 25.5% compared with the last quarter of 2003), but compare these 34.2m Getty is generating only with footage to the revenues other companies are generating overall with their RM/RF imagery and identify the companies who are active in this business field at all.”

The Long Tail: Talking with Bram Cohen about P2P TV: Chris Anderson writes about Bram Cohen, the inventor of BitTorrent, and a conversation about distributing network television via P2P. Chris and Bram think it would be a good idea of course as do I. It’s an innovative solution.

The problem is though you are not dealing with innovators in network television executives and thus in my opinion we unfortunately are not likely to see anything like this anytime soon. Instead, illegal copies will continue to circulate.

Personally I’m not too disappointed as I find myself watching less and less television these days anyways. I’m down to one show, Six Feet Under, and even with that I’m now 4 weeks behind. Shhhh. don’t give anything away. The problem is competing media that increasingly moves me away from television. The primary culprits? Flickr. Photography. Blogging. RSS.
