http://www.flickr.com/photos/thomashawk/4390134441/sizes/o/ Warning it takes a little bit to load. Best to load it in a background tab and check it in a bit.

  3. Oh, I meant to phrase that sarcastically (not to give offense) as in better not to view that AT ALL, then to have to, & yup takes some time to load LOL

  5. Holey Crap! Isn't there a way to block invites to games and groups?

  6. LOL, Stephen. I'm not a big FB user, but definitely don't want to delete my account. I use it to keep in touch with former school classmates and a few close friends. If anything it's a Rolodex for me. Luckily I have not had the experience that Thomas has had with FB SPAM. I get maybe one a week. I guess most of my friends are too busy to play games on FB.

A practical question. Why doesn't facebook let you go to a settings place somewhere and just opt out of getting all this crap?

so really, why doesn't facebook let you opt out of all of these? Is it that they make money from these and they'd rather diminish the user experience with this crap than lose that money?

  9. I usually just completely ignore them and block them from my wall. Sometimes…they sneak through and I have to swat them down with my giant facebook spamswatter. I can sell you one although I have to warn you…it's pretty expensive.

This is what I call the risk of myspace-ification in that blog post (with your photos lol) about Buzz vs other services.

Because if you could opt out of all present and future application notices en masse it significantly decreases the motivation for developers to create future applications.

  13. David Sanger says:

you could do a lot of “block this application” and “ignore invites from this friend” which would help a little.

    just don’t go on vacation.
