I too have been worried about all of the work that I've put into Flickr being vulnerable to one day being deleted, even by accident. I'm experimenting with setting up my own Gallery site, but of course that will lack the community. Perhaps you're in a unique situation in that you have your own site, Zooomr. Don't you get to call the shots there (CEO)? Wouldn't that be the place to build your legacy of a life's work, where it's not subject to the profit or political motivations of another corporation?

I’ve been reading the Flickr threads and this blog and all but I still can’t figure out why Alkhateeb did not file a counter notice and request that Flickr reinstate the image. If he did do that, theoretically Flickr would put the image back up until it’s settled in court. Can someone explain that?

I had to take down all my people pictures from Flickr because they said they were voyeuristic. I asked them if I could keep the private and they told me I had to delete them or else face an account cancellation.

I was very angry and I still am.
