I also didn’t have a great experience with them. I recently purchased a warranty from http://www.northamericacoverage.com and was surprised how reasonable they were. It was a pain having to register the product a few days later… but i saved $$$.

Mack Camera must have a different level of customer service for people who are named “Thomas Hawk”. My experience with them was simply terrible – they took nearly six months to repair my Sony Camcorder.

By the time they’d returned the unit to me, I’d already moved on and replaced it. During the time they had the camera, it was nearly impossible to communicate with them. They would not answer emails. When I did finally get a person on the phone they would not give status updates, nor an expected time of return.

After two months of them holding my camera, I began asking that they return it to me unrepaired. They refused.

To be honest, when I’d finally gotten the camera back, I was surprised. I had expected to never see it again.

I do not recommend Mack Camera Warranty’s to anyone that I like.

While the vultures are circling your camera collection, whatever happened to the 24/1.4 that died? Any chance it’s for sale? I’ve got a 24/1.4 with a scratch that could use a front element transplant.
