Although Canon routinely offers rebates, with these especially generous instant rebates, it makes you wonder if the much rumored new Canon 5D Mark II might not be coming out very soon now.

Previous rumors suggested
that the new 5D Mark II might be coming out in April. Alas, this was not to be the case.

I don’t feel bad about the new 5D not coming out yet. It means my 5D is still not retired as a model, a year after I’ve purchased it. It makes me feel good about buying it, especially since I spent plenty of money on it.

At any rate, it’s very likely that the new 5D is going to come out by November, if not earlier.

Meh – tempting as it is I’m still waiting for the 5D MkII.

What everyone is forgetting about the now infamous “April 22nd” rumour is that the source stated that Canon would “announce” the 5DMkII on the 22nd of April – which obviously didn’t happen – but that it would be RELEASED in June.

I personally doubt we will see anything until August/September, but would love to be proved wrong.
