Recently, as some of you know, London’s Metropolitan Police have launched a serious anti-photography campaign encouraging people to turn in odd looking photographers.

  1. Interesting video; thanks for sharing it.
    The cameraman did a great job of standing up for his rights. I wonder if that police officer that made such a fool of himself has seen the video yet.

  2. It’s pretty scary that the cop can’t site the “law” the videographer is allegedly breaking after he (the cop) assaults the guy buy grabbing his gear.

    I was also shocked that the videographer was touching the cop. If you’re in the US, don’t ever do that. It’ll surely and badly for you.

    This issue deserves all the attention it can get.

  3. Kinda old, but I guess its still relevant. Having said that and living in the UK for 4 years, I’ve never had any form of harassment for my photo taking and I’ve taken photos around the MI5 hq (where James Bond works 🙂 )

    Just to clarify – these are NOT police officers.

    They are “Police and Community Support Officers.” Basically a cheaper way of putting a uniformed presence on the streets to “reassure” the public.

    As you can see from this video the intelligence and training of PCSOs is at best variable.
