2008 Pulitzer Prizes for Photography Announced
The 2008 Pulitzer Prizes for photography were announced today.
Photographer Adrees Latif of Reuters won a Pulitzer for his photograph of a Japanese videographer, sprawled on the pavement, fatally wounded during a street demonstration in Myanmar.
Preston Gannaway of the Concord (N.H.) Monitor won the Feature Photography Pulitzer for her chronicle of a family coping with a parent’s terminal illness.
Bob Dylan, pictured above, also was presented with a special citation for “his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power.”

Latif’s photo at first appears unremarkable until you read the story and realize what it is of.
