Technical Difficulty at Flickr

Flickr: The Help Forum: [Official Topic] Current Contacts Issues According to a Flickr Help Forum “Your Contacts Photos” in one of the most popular sections of the site may not update for as long as 2 days.

Given the deterioration of updates around contacts and your contact’s recent photos, we’ve taken what might seem like rather drastic action. For the time being, your contact’s recent photos will not be updating. This functionality has been taken offline by the dev team while we endeavour to implement a scalable solution that should improve the situation. We expect that the downtime will be no greater than 48 hours (2 days).

I heard about that. That’s kind of a biggie to have go wrong. Zooomr may not be perfect (yet 😉 ), but its Zipline beats anything Flickr has, hands down. Real time updating of one’s contacts kicks major posterior end. Zipfox is always open in my browser.

I do not have a flickr account anymore but I use Google Reader to be informed of new photos from photographers on flickr that I like to follow. It is a very reliable solution.

I’m not sure what’s up with Flickr, but I have to say that I’ve been mostly happy with them for several years now.

If Zooomr would finally get their own Uploadr online (it shouldn’t be THAT hard), I think I’d spend more time there.

Never mind about the Zooomr uploader comment…didn’t know you guys were about to do a major new release.
