while i came up with the Vloggies idea, i can only create my content in part because i watch so much tv -- but i dont watch live tv anymore -- i only watch poor-mans-tivo, ie, direct tv dvr'd content. so while the niche content is essential, even askaninja stuff refers to tv commercials or series -- i dont know how long this will last -- in other words maybe our vlogging children will only be referring to askaninja and not to "head on...apply directly to the forehead"

I think that it is a little premature for most people to make thre shift, mostly because there is no consistent place for people to find content from all of the different sources. I think we're bound to live ina world in whcih some content is on broadcast, some is available via DVD/download and still other content via streaming. This will be a miserable transition for the average consumer to whom HDTV is a confusing transition.

However, I think that if you look at the system that emerges at the end of this process, it will be streamed in real time from a distributed library of just about everything available. All of the download to own is unecessary once bandwidth to the home completes it's current upgrade. Apple's model of dwonloading and owning content will not survive to be a market dominant position.
