I am just trying out the new release of IE7, and find it interesting all the debate about this release versus the Firefox download. One of the most interesting aspects of the IE vs. Firefox battle is the development of the ecosystem of extensions or add-ons. It’s not just about bugs and features. Right now Firefox had a great advantage in this space but you can see Microsoft trying to catch up.
I noticed an interesting extension called Trailfire, set up as a recommended download for IE7. See link:

http://www.ieaddons.com/SearchResults.aspx?keywords=trailfire

I think the ecosystem for Firefox and IE will decide who wins this battle. What do you think?

I actually really like how del.icio.us integrates with flock, which i also use as my primary browser. If flock started offering more service options such as blue dot I might try it out - but I am hooked on having my del.icio.us bookmarks show up in my search box results along with my search history and yahoo results.

Hey Eric, I do say that there is a way to do this in the update on my post. See the italicized text at the bottom under update.

It is cool that the delicious API allows this Jeremy. And thanks for your good work there at Yahoo!

Given that only a subset of readers click through to the comments, wouldn't it be fair to revise your body text to indicate you are able to easily migrate your bookmarks out of Delicious?

Jeremy, good point. And sorry about that. I guess I'm just still bitter about not being able to get my Yahoo! calendar data out and into 30 Boxes.

Thanks for the pointer Derek.

I'm a Spurl fan. Spurl saves and searches the whole page, not just the URL and page title. It also pushes everything you save to Del.icio.us, so you can always go back if it doesn't work for you. FIY - I don't really use the social networking aspects of bookmarking sites. I mainly use them as hierarchical storage for my brain.

Hi Thomas -- Blue Dot has a del.icio.us importer integrated into the site. We also offer a del.icio.us compatible API for getting data out.
