		<description>I don&#039;t think this agreement extension is to use their units.  I have it feeling its because they are the only provider not being sued for patent violations by tivo and extending the agreement allows them to directly compete with their own dvrs that use features patented by tivo. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;might be interesting, if tivo wins all their cases, could be an interesting shake up in the dvr market leaving directv standing tall.</description>

		<description>Note - Tivo was obligated to continue program updates for the DirecTV Tivos, just no &#039;support&#039;. My guess is the boxes are well debugged at this point, and none of the new features Tivo has put together can really work on a non-broadband DirecTV Tivo anyway.</description>

		<description>As a diehard DirecTiVo user for the past 5 years, I am glad to hear this. I just wish that D* would actually implement all of the other features that standalone TiVo units have.</description>
