Matthew, that was not brought up specifically, but I think that example points directly to the fact that when popular stories get big on Digg that if there are inaccuracies then they are quickly refuted by the Digg community.

Did anyone talk about the controversy over people accusing someone at O’Reilly of stealing code from Digg — apparently because he was using code from somewhere called Pligg, which copied aspects of Digg’s site? A number of bloggers have written about it, and how the flame war that erupted shows the risks of the “group-think” that can arise from something like Digg.

you could see live how fast a story is growing w/ out clicking refresh and losing your place on the page = )
