Bang & Olufsen’s BeoMedia 1 Media Center

Bang & Olufsen’s BeoMedia 1 Media Center – Media PCs – mediapcs.engadget.com: From Engadget: “Bang & Olufsen have just announced their WinXP Media Center Edition BeoMedia 1. B&O; claims their solution which features a custom front-end differs from other Media Center offerings by “selecting the functionality most relevant to the user, and making it easy to use.” The built-in 160GB disk hosts your digital photos, video clips, digital music, for playback through your B&O; (and non-B&O; presumably) home entertainment system. Oddly, but not for B&O;, they don’t list a single supported format in their press release.”

Although you have to admire the Bang & Olufsen design, I’ve never been able to figure out who pays all that money for overpriced electronics.

B&O; started a bit of a downhill slide when they failed to integrate digital TV into their media centres about 5 years ago. I am pretty much aghast that they’re going WinXP, too. Something is clearly rotten in the State of Denmark, to purloin.

Have you listened to a B&O; set up, other than in a shop? Like, for a protracted period of time?
