Google’s Getting Into The RSS Racket

Scobleizer: Microsoft Geek Blogger Google’s getting into the RSS racket. Why am I not surprised not to see them as a recommended reader on Microsoft’s new RSS awareness site that they’ve rolled out? I’d like to try the service myself but haven’t been able to figure out a way to export my opml file from Newgator Online.

    Exporting is easy Thomas…

Got to NG Online and then click on the “Newsgator Manager” tab. Next click on the “Edit Locations” link at the top and then look for the “NewsGator Web Edition” section on the page. Under that section you’ll see the OPML link and you can probably take it from there.

    Hey, you have no trackbacks?

I’ve tried this google dingie and love it – even if you don’t export your old feed, you can do a search for either your name or some other blog you’ve subscribed to – and in the results, you’ll find many other related blogs. Chances are these are also blogs in your old reader. I was able to quickly rebuild my list this way.

James, thanks for the help on getting my OPML file out of Newsgator. They sure do make getting your OPML file out harder than importing your OPML in. Glad to know it can be done though. Thanks.

Elinesca, I don’t think Blogger has trackbacks unfortunately. At least not that I’m aware of.
