Apparently they are a little jittery about photos these days.
I asked him if there was any way I could get up there on that bridge to shoot some shots of Oakland and he told me absolutely not.
The key to getting shots where you know you’re not allowed is to keep the camera hidden and wear headphones. When you’ve got your four or five shots picked out you whip out the camera and start shooting like mad. You’ll get yelled at, but ignore it (the headphones and all). By the time they get to you and actually tap you on the shoulder you’ve already gotten a good 25 or so shots off. You can then play dumb and claim to be from Omaha, etc.
It’s a shame that photographers are treated like criminals these days.
