Media Portal’s New Screen Shots
PVR Wire For the life of me I don’t know why Microsoft’s IP attorneys aren’t jumping up and down over this. It looks like a clear MCE rip off. Not that I care much for IP attorneys, but the resemblence is remarkable. The icons, the fonts, it feels just like Media Center.
Perhaps this is part of the kinder, gentler Microsoft.
I am going to have to search hard to find where I originally heard this, I think it was in a channel9 video but someone said that the mce2005 interfaced was lisenced from a plugin for a competitor. Yeah I hate to tell ya, but there are a lot of other frontend and PVR software whose user commmunity has developed skins that are a dead rip off of MCE, and a lot of them aren’t hiding that fact. Meedio is one, I know SageTV has an MCE skin too. Media Portal has had this look and feel since the project began.
why can’t these guy be original..please stop ripping off others ideas.
