Tom,

I agree with the easy to use message and I built my software company up from a home office to a multi M company, so I understand that aspect. I guess my point was that you are an influential member of the MCE community and should not pay serious attention to feeble, low end attempts to enter the market. How sustainable is a $1,000.00 MCE platform from a small reseller anyway?

That said I hope they do well, cut down on the hyperbole and actually become "a leading manufacturer of media entertainment devices for the consumer electronics industry" Right up there with Sony, Samsung and Phillips :)

Adam,

Perhaps true. The company certainly does seem to have an amateur marketing message. My primary interest though in the unit is that they are trying to offer a cheap, CE looking, silent, MCE machine with a "hey this thing is easy as pie" simplicity message.

I have not heard this marketing message articulated like this in the past but I think that there is potential for this message for mass market. Perhaps a larger more significant OEM needs to be the one pushing and developing this type of a low end product.

In this case, the marketing message is of more interest to me than the actual product and I agree that the manufacturer does not necessarily come across as serious or professional (as I referenced in my comments about their website). On the other hand lots of little businesses in the past have turned into big professional businesses when they are on to something from a marketing standpoint.

Tom, I love your work but I think your BS filter needs to be turned up a notch. Not only is this an amateur web site as you pointed out but the company is so new they do not show up on a Google search. The "success stories" reference on the web is the CEO's system and the press release on MPC World says they are "a leading manufacturer of media entertainment devices for the consumer electronics market".
