Dr. Gene Scott Dead at 75
Pasadena Star-News – News First the good doctor Hunter S. Thompson and now the crazed out whacked in the head enigmatic mega broadcaster doctor Gene Scott is gone.
For those of you who were never bored enough to actually sit through any of Dr. Scott’s television, and that is probably most of you, he was a sight to see. Dr. Scott was a megalomaniac who would smoke cigars, talk about UFOs and the Lost Tribe, berate his audience for not sending enough money in, and come up with complex graphical biblical teaching on a big white dry erase board. When he got tired of talking he’d run video loops of his horses running around or other similar nonesense.
Dr. Scott was the pastor of the Los Angeles University Cathedral but he was so much more than this. In the past few decades most televangelists have been easily identifiable as cheap hucksters and hypocrites with very simple business models that prey on the weak — folks like Jim Bakker, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and Jimmy Swaggart. Dr. Scott preyed on the weak as well but he was never as easy to figure out and remained a constant enigma to those who might run across him while channel surfing UHF back before cable or satellite tv. He was a Stanford educated preacher who definitely had more than a few screws loose.
Dr. Scott was very direct in his request for money. He oftentimes would punish his viewers by refusing to talk until a certain amount of money was sent in. It was comedic. He would say the most outrageous things in his bully like demands for people to give up their money. You were definitely going to hell if you didn’t give and your place in heaven was largely a determination of how much you gave.

“A skinflint may get to Heaven, but what awaits him are a rusty old halo, a skinny old cloud, and a robe so worn it scratches. First-class salvation costs money.”
“I want 300 people to give $1,000 by June 30 to humiliate Satan’s efforts to destroy us,” Dr. Scott commanded in a Web site missive. “I also want 700 to commit to $10,000 by Christmas. I’ve been trying to lighten the staff load for five years! I won’t take responsibility for things I have no assurance I’ll ever see!”
Dr. Scott railed against the FCC, told jokes, played the saxophone and showed off video footage of him sitting poolside with bikini clad women along with his horses. His program was broadcast in eight languages and in 180 countries. He broadcast 24 hours a day throughout the world and more recently had set up a live internet stream. I’m not quite sure why he was never able to crack cable or satellite tv more significantly but he was the master of the crazy obscure OTA programming.
Dr. Scott was a character. Though the world may indeed be a better place without him one can’t help but chuckle at his antics and weird behavior that was the sideshow along the way as he ripped off his flock.

My grandfather who was an episcopal
Minister required a collage education. My father took over his ministry when he died but was removed because he did not have the education credentials necessary for the job. As strange as it might seem it really requires an enormas amount of schooling to become an minister. I am curius what background she has as far as schooling.
It’s abit of a stretch to call Dr. Scotts teachings uninteresting or unintelligent. Questioning the spiritual inegrity is certainly fair. As far as his wife, she may well be saved I guess. She may be so blessed to leave a career in porn behind and be forgiven. But when ranting about being questioned about her living in style on church property, on LIVE TV, any “Pastor” that says “It’s none of your God Damn business where I live, its the LEAST the church can do for me” is not one that I can follow. I think we can all be thankful that her heart as a spiritual leader was exposed so clearly. I’m not perfect but I think I am just in eliminating Melissa Scott as an appropriate teacher in my walk…

As I flicked thru the TV channels on Wed. morning (2:00am), I happened to watch a portion of Pastor Melissa Scottt’s sermon or??
I had to turn it off as her presentation in front of the writing boards was terrible. I found myself out of breathe due to disjointed manner of her talking and speech pattern. Also, she rambled on and on while saying nothing. What a horrible speaker!!

I’ve only recently came across Pastor Melissa Scott’s broadcasts and it’s put a spark in me that has me reading and questioning my values.
I’ve never seen Dr. Scotts broadcasts until recently and I must say he was a very knowledgeable and gifted teacher, BUT also a person who traveled the road to glory his way not by the highway.
AS for Pastor Melissa Scott, after what I’ve read here and a few other sites it seems like being at the Coliseum(sp?)and most everybody is cheering the lions.

I’ve read about her not having a degree in “whatever”, after listening to her teach I find she is far more knowledgeable about scripture than any of her doubters will admit.
She is trying to fill the “void” left by the passing of her husband, I’m sure those who see the difference are not happy, they want to see and feel like “it used be be” and since it isn’t, it’s all her fault
I’m sure once Dr. Scott went to his glory(or not) there was plans being set to gain control. She was placed in authority of that church and I’m sure she has shown that she has claws, like any mother protecting her cubs.
She is going to make mistakes, say the wrong thing, offend some, but its a learning curve, unfortunately(sp) people expect her to be perfect.

I had never heard of Dr. Gene Scott until trying to find information on Dr. Melissa Scott, whom I have only recently noticed on late night/very early morning television. I always try to watch for wolves in the sheep pen, so when someone speaks in such a way that they are hard to pin down to a set of beliefs, I investigate.
The Christian community has little to say, that I can find. (Could be she is not taken seriously). The official website for their ministry has no statement of beliefs, which to me is always suspect. Any Christian should be wary when beliefs are not straightforward and directly stated.
I wasn’t sure why, rather than simply using translated Scripture (the Bible in some trustworthy English translation) she opts to translate every word herself and give a complete description of it. A good preacher may, on occasion, explain a word here or there from the Greek where it is relevant to the understanding of the passage, or where translations differ. I watched this woman for an hour and have no idea what point she was trying to make, if any, because all she did was translate and tell me not to miss something. After her comment that her congregation which was present as the video was made (for a church service I suppose)was to read the Greek on the board if they could, and she “knew they could”, I was given the impression that the knowledge of language was being used to cloud rather than clarify, leaving anyone watching OR in the congregation who could not follow feeling inadequate to judge and left to trust whatever she said.
My advice to anyone is never to believe anyone based on reputation or claims, but to test everyone who claims to be a Christian pastor by Scripture. In order to do that you have to study it for yourself, and stop trusting everyone who says they are Christian. The qualifications for a pastor can be found in I Timothy, II Timothy and Titus, if anyone is curious.

I just noticed this woman, recently, where I had to switch to time warner as Adelphia took a giant crapper, or better said fleeced their pockets with quazillions to defraud the shareholders. I find it appropriate that Time warner who is also the devil in persona, put this woman on the air. I have seen a lot of preaching over the years as I have been a Christian going after God for 20 years now but I have yet to see a fraud like this. I tried desperately to find out where she was going with it and it was like a combination of ping pong and mental masturbation. Tired, disgusted with her pride, and lacking any holy spirit whatsoever, I turned the channel and felt a great ease come over my heart that I did not need to put myself through the torture a second longer. It was tortuous for me as I cannot listen to a mental masturbater, it makes me ill. From first impression, and they are usually good, this woman is a power hungry, head driven, intellectual who will never get to the point because she does not have one. She is hopelessly trying to look smart but does not have enough the holy spirit to even start. Maybe someone should tell her that women are not supposed to teach pulpit, very clearly stated in the new testament by Paul. Maybe she thought to skip that part.
I remember watching Dr. Scott back in ‘82 or ‘83 when cable TV was just coming out. He used to light his cigars with a hand grenade lighter. He would say that if you learn from him you owe your tithe or whatever to him and it was none of your business what he did with it as that was between him and God. Well, if you believe in all that, I suppose he had good points.
As far as his wife is concerned, she is a babe, and I can forgive any man for falling in love with her.

See, for a typical Fundementalist Preacher, spouting against the Catholic Church, and claiming the Bible as the ONLY revealed truth, she fails to obey a tenent of that foundation:

Or, does she just figure those words by the Apostle Paul were “from that era”, and not relevant?
If so, (and she would be correct), then can she also make the application of “from that era” to other teachings in the Bible?
I do not care if she was a porn star. If she truly turned her life around, by giving it to Jesus, then by all means, she is “one of us”, Baptized into the Body of Christ!

I used to listen to Dr. Scott many years ago, and, in my disposition at the time, was inclined to think that he was something special, but I would in the long run come to discover that at best he was deceived and at worst he was a classic false teacher of the sort the Apostle Paul warned us about. I feel sorry for him because I believe that there was the potential for greatness there, but in the end he is taking precious souls to hell with him, and that is fucking chilling!

My mother still talks anout hearing Dr. Scott in Calif when he was involved with Melodyland Christian Cneter in CA. She said he preached a sermon called the “Valley of Baca” (sp) That one serman got her through the hardest time in her life. She said Dr. Scott was very proper and wore a 3 piece suit.
She said there was some kind of accusation of “Heresy” and Melodyland church took all of Scott’s tapes off the shelves.
I think he was a man that was deeply hurt and misunderstood by his fellow ministers.

It has been very successful. As a Deist, we believe there is a Supreme Being, we’re just not arrogant enough to say things like, “There’s only one Truth and here it is in this box. Those who don’t agree will go to hell!” Prove that exists BTW — just so ya know, traditional Judaism has no concept of eternal damnation and Satan is considered a member of G-d’s court in good standing. Sheol does NOT mean hell nor does Gehenna in the NT. Christianity is the “completion” of Judaism? Not so much.

They are no different than the Ayatollas and Imams in the Middle East. They just smile a lot more. Gene and Pastor Melissa Scott are unique in their despicable demands for welfare checks, thousands of dollars towards secrets on your credit cards, and will take your child’s last food dollar. All in the name of faith. And don’t expect to get anything from them in return, like a thank you or a blessing or a prayer. From Dr. Gene and Pastor Melissa Scott, that costs extra. Other televangelists are content to tell you to send whatever you can, or to go to the cookie jar and pull out a ten or twenty. They ask you to buy a prayer cloth or a CD of gospel music and say that this is how they keep their programs on. It’s a love gift or support not a form of worship. Dr. Gene and Melissa Scott demand you worship them by sending them money PAYABLE IN THEIR NAME PERSONALLY for them to squandor as they choose.

God never taught to elevant pastors to semi-deity status or to slave and worship for their carnal wants and desires. I read through all the comments. I came across Dr. Gene Scott back in the late 70’s and while I did not watch regularly, I watched often enough that I got the jest that his ways were out of the norm. Recently, I discovered his replays of his later days and his new wife Melissa Scott. I found some sermons of his to be intriguing, and hers rather difficult to follow. However, here in was my concerns. First, every time I called the 800 number, and I did so numerous times, I could get NO information and everyone was very rude. In fact, I was actually hung up on. It is answered as her answering service? One time I was told I would get a call back. I did not expect Melissa Scott to call me, but I thought someone would at least call and give me information. But no one ever did. I asked about the King’s House. I still do not understand what it is. All I was told was you had to have a number and watch the show 2 times a week and call in. I asked if they had computers so they could pull up those numbers and what exactly was one to report on. I still have no clear answers. I was seriously considering sending in a few dollars but felt I needed to wait. Then I heard Melissa Scott say one night “You send your money and it is not anyone’s business how it spent.” She also stated that Dr. Gene Scott ordained her Pastor. I found that disturbing also. I began to research further. I don’t care what her past is, because we are forgiven. I do care if she is still affliated in anyway with the former sites and receives royalties, etc. I don’t care if she has a degree or that she teaches as long as God has set her apart to do so. While there are learning curves, there are some things that are basic to Christanity as to how leaders are servants and not the other way around. The reports that are posted are disturbing in that area. Since I am off in Tennessee, I have not witnessed anything first hand but I do know that enough red flags have come up that it has curtailed any active involvement for me. I am more concerned about the people who have been hurt or wounded and would turn away from the Lord or not come to Him at all due to this mess. I am not going to judge their hearts, but I can examine their fruits.

I have not seen Gene Scott’s teachings. I have, however, seen Pastor Melissa Scott. I would remind each and everyone of you who are interested in learning the gospel, the “truth” and the “Word” to exercise discernment. What one was is irrelevant. We are to “judge” by one’s fruit. Yes, it does take money to run a church. Does it really matter that a “teacher” is a woman? or a sinner? Is sin not sin, no sin lesser or greater than another? Rather than gossip and flash on the past, I advise all of you – listen to the teachings and compare those teachings to the Bible. If you want a Saint for a teacher – good luck – not in this age, not today. We learn from other sinners that have received the blessings of discernment, knowledge and wisdom. Was not Solomon the wisest of earthly men also a sinner? Do you people really expect perfection from your teachers that you must gossip and accuse? Personally, I’ll learn from an ex-porn star who teaches accurate and complete Bible teachings any day of the week over a TBN, WORD, DSTAR, CTN or INSP minister who confuses biblical passages for gain. Also, where does it say in the Bible ministers cannot enjoy fame or fortune? Anyone heard of Joel Osteen or Joyce Meyer? Why don’t I see any complaints about them on this site? Only God knows what is in the heart and mind of Melissa. So long as Melissa continues to teach accurate, foundational and orthodox scripture – she has my vote. I too will exercise the discernment muscle as I listen. Until I see something contrary, I say – GO GIRL!!! And, to all of you reviewing this site, I say, study the Word, not the gossip. Dr Gene Scott taught, and taught well. Every body comments on his behavior. Read carefully. Did’nt David sin greatly? Did’nt Solomon Sin greatly. Was’nt Peter call ed a son of thunder because of his anger, and denied Jesus later? Did Jacob steal Esau’s blessing? Yes all of that happened with those great men of biblical times. Dr Gene Scott is no different. Those men that I spoke about was used of God for His devine plan. Dr. Gene Scott was no different. He was used of God, and gave understanding that no one could give me on the television. Nobody has gotten in dept like him in todays time. He was not affraid to step out of religious politics and worship God in Spirit and in truth. How dare you speak against anybody advocating for Jesus. If you want to curse Eugene Scott even in death, then you’ll have to curse the men of God I named earlier, because they all did something we can point the finger at. SHAME ON YOU!
Really glad I found this site and I’m afraid it confirms some things I’ve suspected since discovering Gene Scott back in the 1980’s. I watched him in curiosity for a short while and then relegated him to the round file of viewing not worth my while.
When I discovered him again recently (but probably after he had passed away), I found his presentations more palatable but not more useful. Melissa was the curiosity this time. A quick look at the Youtube clip and more especially the various writeups from attendees/former attendees on this site have confirmed my worst impression that Gene Scott and his young wife are/were primarily entertainers at best and scam artists who fall short only of Jim Jones at worst.
I will certainly be looking for an expose on them. Their miscreancy will not keep me from a growing interest in continuing my Christian walk or enjoying more closeness to God the Father and Christ through His Word and through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
People need to pray once and for all for Melissa; whether or not she has made a true confession of faith, it seems to me she is in grave spiritual danger. That doesn’t mean she needs or deserves financial support, however.
As well, I think it would be better if she were to will the Bible exhibit items to a suitable institutional recipient instead of pawning them off on the internet, and then to find respectable employment other than as a “pastor” or in the Red Light District of the film world.
I hope she reads this and takes heed.
As for those of us on either side of the line of “they’re great” and “they’re despicable,” I think those who still think the Scotts are okay need God’s enlightenment, and those of us on the other side need to be sober in our condemnation so that we don’t also fall into sin.
As for thuggery on the Scotts’ part, I look forward to the written expose and will certain tout it to all the believers (Christians) of my acquaintance. If Ms. Scott is guilty of any criminal activity, I sincerely hope she is discovered and suitably punished, as well.

When I looked for information on the Scott ministry I found this site. I for one don’t believe in any one religon or church to be the choosen one. But I do believe and know for a fact that God will provide you with the truth. Pray for understanding and guidnes before and after you read your Bible, this will open your eyes more also your hearts. Know that we all are born under sin thru Adam and like wise born unto life thru Christ. God says that David was a man after his own heart. Why? Because David showed love “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your mind.” Now what Mr.& Mrs Scott did or didn’t do is not up to me to judge. I find there teaching inspiring. I do follow up on the scripture that is laid out in there sermens along with the bible dictionary, I haven’t found anything to make a case agenst what they are teaching.(SO-FAR) But I have only watched 4 of the programs. I just wanted to say PLEASE PRAY AND READ YOUR BIBLE AND PRAY FOR UNDERSTANDING. Jesus put it the best when he said “When an unclean spirt goes out of a man, he goes through a dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.” Also ” Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.”

I have read many of these posts and have could not remain silent. I am ever so thankful I serve a God who forgives!! With my past I need it. Apparently many of you do not and I am thankful that many of you were obviously able to live perfect lives witout the need to be forgiven. The only difference I can see between my life and the lives of Mellisa Scott and Gene Scott is I have not yet been chosen by God to be blessed with wealth, power, or fame. If it means that I would be subject to the type of treatment shown in these posts then I pray to God that I never receive wealth, fame, or power. You’re missing the point. Critics of Dr. Gene and Pastor Melissa Scott here aren’t claiming perfection or judging anyone’s soul. Only Jesus was perfect and on God, the Lord of Hosts judges our souls.
Unlike most ordinary sinners, Dr. Gene and Pastor Melissa Scott abused the trust placed in the office of a pastor, who is ordained to serve their flock. Pastors are to guide in God’s word, not to make up their own words and rules as though they are gospel. Even Dr. Scott quoted the bible that those who are charged with higher office will be judged to higher standards.
However, when pastors lie to their trusting congregation it’s an offense against God’s family and against God. It’s blasphemy. These two blast other Christians and hold themselves up as superior to the men and women they are to serve and shepherd. It’s a misuse of their high spiritual office and an affront to God. Period. Scott’s church, neither am i a fan. As a man, there was nothing about him that i found impressive. What was clear was that he taught the Word as well and with more balance between spirit and intellect than any in his generation. If you could look beyond his external demeanor and actually listen to the teaching, you would you would learn more in an hour than you would in a week long seminary class. One word for Gene Scott…”unpretentious”. He didn’t hide his intentions behind make up, golden podiums and goofy TV grins, gold cufflinks or permed hair. What you saw is exactly what you got. If you gave to his ministry it would mainly be because you value what you are learning and not because are ‘weak’ as has been implied by most. I would hazard a guess that there are many ministers and christians out there who would never publicly declare something favorable about Gene Scott, but secretly watch and learn from his teachings. That is why these detractors seem to know so much about what is happening in his(scott)’ ministry and teaching. Those archives he had on his website 24 hours a day for years were a treasure trove and any biblical scholar worth his salt would be forced to agree. Gene Scott was a refreshing departure from the mainstream Christian media.
Those of us who knew Dr. Gene Scott well, worked for him and saw how he treated others and what he said in private KNOW BETTER! Dr. Gene Scott was the absolute antithesis of unpretentioius. He was highly arrogant, comfortable in his trampling on the rights and properties of others. He was oblivious to the risks he placed his loyal inside circle in by encouraging misconduct on several fronts, then laughing about it. Dr. Gene Scott loudly proclaimed his special elevation above all man in all times, since the apostle Paul.
Dr. Gene Scott had two distinct sets of rules; one set for himself in which lavish carnal excesses defined freedom and the other set for everyone else who better not make a mistake or heed the commandments literally.
He was a cruel meanspirited megalomaniac who
used God like a prop in his fictional church world.
Dr. Gene Scott enjoyed inflicting emotional pain on those he controlled. He was so full of himself and his sense of always being right that he didn’t examine himself. No one ever saw Dr. Gene Scott questioning if he was doing God’s will, wondering if he had been too harsh on some unempowered person he ripped to shreds personally and financially. He uniformly spoke that what he was doing, even evil deeds upon brethren, as though God was always for what he was doing and against what others chose to do. When the circumstances were reversed and he took the other side of a dispute, again Dr Gene Scott was always right.
He’d laugh at people being sheep and giving him all their money. Dr. Gene Scott developed a true cult in every sense of the word, to his gain and the psychological, emotional, spiritual and financial loss of others. For many, he was more a tool of the devil than an instrument of the Lord.
3/16/07 — What a fascinating read all around, this entire blog, from one extreme to the other.
I can’t believe this guy, Dr.Gene Scott, has been around for over 20+ years on TV and I only just “discovered” him on late night PAX-TV within the past 2-3 months. At first I would keep flipping past him on the remote control because he “looked a bit fritzy in appearance” not to mention the at-first-glance scribbled-whiteboareds.
But eventually I stopped on his program and actually watched it and I was blown away. It was an excellent sermon about each one of the apostles, such detail and richness, and what seemed to be such depth of understanding, as if the speaker, Dr. Scott (Gene), could relate personally to their flaws as well as their triumphs. I was hooked after that, but in future nights channel-surfing it seemed the Mrs. was on TV more often than he, so I would pass her by until the other night I did watch her but, as has been said, she did not have near the “depth” of teaching that he had.
I had enjoyed his Hebrew/Greek explanations, but she was a bit too slow getting to her points.

Eventually I learned Gene had already long passed away, and these were repeat shows I was seeing. I actually had felt “sad” that he was gone. It had been on my “to do list” to research this guy, and tonight was the night, and Whoa Nellie! :-/ Yow!
Such a CONTRAST. I’ve probably only seem him preach/teach on TV about 10 times so far, and I’ve never seen him do any of the things described. No cigars, cursing, etc. He actually has come across as a “humble” guy who is all too aware of his sins and faults, as he would comment now and again how he has learned the hard way, etc. etc. so I just felt like he must be somebody who has had to Really Struggle with himself, but that he was totally dependent and relied totally on God to be forgiving of someone like him with such evidently painful flaws.
But I had NO IDEA of what he was speaking, as is described in this blog. Holy Moley.

So I am WONDERING: Did Gene Scott become more “aware” of his faults in his later years? Did he really begin to “clean up his act” possibly as he got older?
Or, are they only airing his more “respectable” sermons, where he actually comes across as a “humble” person?
If he had/has not changed one iota from the examples given in this blog, and most especially the one link to that Windows Media video where Gene Scott had on that hat and cigar and was cursing up a storm, well, my immediate reaction to that video was that the man obviously has a brain disorder, a mental illness or personality disorder. Genius oftentimes blends with “madness” (by “madness” I mean “insanity,” rage, etc.) My guess is he possibly had Bipolar Disorder or Narcissistic Personality Disorder, or something to that effect. That was my FIRST impression after seeing the video tonight. Lack of impulse control, inability to take criticism, lashing out, etc.
Did anyone else have these thoughts? Or, does everyone really think he did it on purpose? (somehow I don’t think anyone can be that way “on purpose,” but that there must be an underlying mental illness, or PD, etc.)
I actually felt bad for him, seeing him out of control cursing up a storm in that video. If anyone has ever dealt with people with mental illness and/or personality disorders, you’ll know what I mean.

As for Mrs. Scott, I haven’t seen her cursing and intimidating her congregation yet either. I would imagine they don’t air THOSE specific shows, eh? Would PAX-TV (now ion Network) even allow shows like that? Even if it’s all true — and I’m not saying it isn’t — she also could have a personality disorder because as is said in the mental health field, dysfunctional people are usually drawn to each other subconsciously, without their even realizing it in the beginning.

Incidentally, just earlier tonight a prior sermon of Gene Scott was on TV, and I was actually thrilled to hear him say he was a “Paulinist” and that w/o Paul Christianity would never have made it. I tend to agree with the Pauline dispensational position.
It was after the show that I came to the web to look up the Gene Scott website, and I see he has extensive audios/videos, many which sounded like subjects I would have liked to hear. But after this blog, I am rethinking Dr. Scott as a teacher, unless he “learned meekness” in his last few years of his life? Or no?

If Mrs. Scott needs money, they should sell that cathedral. I think it is rather ghastly and “haunted” looking, including the eerie paintings displayed there, and also shown at the website.
Also, that painting of Christ in Pilate’s chambers, done by Gene Scott, and shown at his site, also caused me pause. It looks like it was painted by a “mad man” (“insanity”).
I wonder if there are ‘embedded images’ in any of those paintings (refer to the DVD, “Rape of the Soul” re: embedded images in Catholic literature. It will blow you away).

Additionally, one of the news articles on this blog of the life of Dr. Scott said he at one time either schooled or worked with Oral Roberts. Oral Roberts is a Freemason, as are his proteges such as Ken Copeland, reportedly. So that’s another reason for my suspicions, though, admittedly, I’ve never even seen Oral Roberts behave as badly as did Gene Scott in that Windows Media video tonight! :-/

I began listening to Mrs Scott several months ago and was fascinated by her knowledge of the Bible and language. I could see where she might be a source of contention to some but I found her to be a joy.
Last night she taught on “Transubstation” and I was “shocked” to find out she believes the Catholic church to be in SERIOUS error.
I being a Catholic felt an urgency to check out her “teachings” which lead me to here for instance.
It doesn’t give me joy to hear of the sorted past but I’m grateful to know all I can so I can make up my own mind. As one reader posted here “Get what you can from the Bible and make up your own mind.”
We should always examine Our lives and our beliefs carefully.
In this way Dr and Mrs Scott had certainly assisted all of us today.

I think it’s hilarious that no-one has posted since this argument above. I too love to listen to Pastor Scott and Dr. Scott when his video’s are played. God is the only one who can judge us, and in the meantime if it helps anyone to understand the Bible I think what they’re doing is worthwhile. Well what I found blew my mind….
First I found Melissa Scott to be very very intelligent! And earnestly sincere! How a person can speak, read, and write over 20 languages is nothing short of miraculous! At least to me because I do a lousy job speaking one!
Plus I followed along with what she was teaching, then checked her out and found that she was right. Plus I learned something? For instance she showed some translation errors in the Bible. Ok for all you skeptics who think they can learn it all themselves, find those errors on your own then!
You say what does it really matter anyway? Ok take the difference between the passage “faith in God” and “faith of God” ….BIG difference in meaning right!

Randy, Christains are instructed by God to judge,test and recognize (form an opinion)about everything around us. Matt 7:1-5 Jesus tells me to judge other Christains in a non-hypocritcal manner before I try to help a brother or sister in Christ with an obvious sin issue that could cause them to spiritualy stumble(v5). 1Jn 4:1&2 "…do not believe every spirit,but test the spirit to see whether they are from God…"
(v6) "We are from God and whoever knows God listens to us. This is how we recognize(God's)Spirit of truth and the(demonic)spirit of falsehood. Randy whether you want to call it judging, testing or recoginizing it involves engaging that which God has given all Christain's for the love and protection of each other and our selves. The active engaging of our analytical capacity to reason,Biblical knowledge and wisdom and God's Spiritual inspiration to arrive at a practical and spiritual decision/conclusion. Randy,you create decisions about people and things every day. You can't arrive at a decision or a conclusion without first forming a judgment/opinion. Randy read Matt 7:1-5, Jesus never said don't you ever judge any one or anything at any time. He makes a distinction between judging with a hypocritical attitude which will subject those to the same type of judgment by God and God's way, which is judging another with a compassionate,respectful and caring desire to practically and spiritually protect and help others and not condem. Randy,you make judgements,form opinions,about people and things every day. It is not what you are doing but what your attitude is when you are doing it. Randy, your judgmental comment feels very condeming to me and you are not God. If you knew the Master that you were talking about you would have never written what you did; nor would have most of the other commentators the way they did. Especially my brothers and sisters;expose spiritual error and hearsay using the sword of God with temperance, knowledge and wisdom. Remember Jesus said, "What a man sows so shall he reap.", Whether Christain or not. Randy, a sincere suggestion for you and to the many others;seek after spiritual wisdom, God's thoughts and His ways,found in the bible, and do not seek after a person(s) or a ministry. It was just brought to my attention researched and discovered that this so-called Pastor and reformed porn star has been recently dating none other than a porn star. This adulteress jezebel has been seeing a a man who has been up on yahoo groups since 2006 in the category of porn star with 100 links to all manner of abominable porn, home videos, B Productions, you name it. When confronted recently with the knowledge of this, he took the site down.
The Harlot Melissa went so far as to brag about her conquest on television by winking to those in the know while she sang “he touched me, oh, he touched me.” If you watch her streaming live video you’ll see it for yourself. She has even confessed it in her sermon God’s Promises that can be found by clicking into the illustration of her on google images with this sermon title.
The scariest thing of all is that the entire Trinity Broadcast Network knows about this as Melissa has been pandering to their lusts (pride of life, lust of the eyes) with her God awful pictures on Glamour Fantasy and bragging about her conquest. They have been extolling this intrigue, adultery and harlotry as they have personal connection and association with this male model/porn star who is knowingly caught up in all manner of filth. It has been brought to their attention over and over and they defiantly refuse to condemn this behavior because he is one of their own now. What has the kingdom come to that such high standing people of God would resort to this and allow this to run rampant in the kingdom unchecked. They have no business preaching the word pretending to be with God, standing on the side of the evil one.
She also refers to the matter in her recent messages, this week of 2/07/09 by saying she is troubled about what may be coming because she slipped back into the flesh (by having an affair with a married porn star/playgirl model who has a film entitled Hunks in Hedonism.) Good looking guy but a complete unsaved dufus. Duh! What was she thinking? Her thoughts must have been someplace else.
My question is…if she is a reformed porn star and now pastor since 2000, who made the videos on BarbiBridgesvod.com that are in the name of Barbie Bridges Entertainment in 2003. If these are not hers they clearly represent the littany of porn she produced with her first husband, including ones with teenagers.
To fall back into this type of behavior is absolutely absurd? She must have taken a look at the heathen, couldn’t resist his loins and jumped right on it. Not surprising since she was also a paid pony girl for her husband Eugene Scott back in the day that led to their divorces and her subsequent taking over of his evil empire.
With all those brains you’d think she could have done better than this??? What a shame!!!

Funny how people use their own tongues-via-their-fingers to spread gossip, isn’t it?
She was a porn star? So what! Jesus saves them, too! Junk about Melissa Scott is everywhere, but there is no documented proof. The gossipers can’t take away her gift for teacher of God’s gift of salvation. She gets this, and so she continues teaching instead of hiding.
I’ve been watching her for weeks. She’s a darn good teacher. One doesn’t have to be an entertainer or a good orator to be a good teacher. She clearly does her homework.
What does it matter? You can know 100 languages and all the knowledge you want, but does that make a teacher exempt from walking in the truth of what she teaches.
She openly bragged about her adulterous affair with this porn star. She is flagrantly spreading her gap for money on her glamour fantasy site, and you call this a good teacher? A teacher of what, do as I say not as I do? Sometimes you can teach a dog to roll over and bend but sometimes all the tricks in the world can’t take the trick out of the trick.
I wish it weren’t true but being that I am one of her flock who knows it is, it’s absolutely disgraceful to say the least. I have lost complete respect for my own pastor. And I know what’s going I’m because I’ve seen it all and the cover up and it aint pretty!

How interesting it is that supposed prominent leaders of faith are allowed to openly disregard and profane the sacred tenets and principles of God (faith) but if someone tells the truth about it the truth teller is labeled the willing host of Satan? Are you ignorant or just plain blind? Who is the willing host of Satan? The false leaders/perpetators of these wicked acts or the true ones who speak against these corrupt influences and behaviors that bring gross darkness upon the people?
The actions speak louder than any words spoken. One need only be the living epistle and use words when necessary. These continuing eroding behaviors behind the scenes of religious organizations, who have gone completely off track, are similar to the train wreck that happened in Chatsworth, CA, or otherwise the number one porn city of the United States.
To whom much is given, much is expected. There will be a greater judgement for those who know the truth of the Gospel and lead others, after their example, into great sin. The whole evangelical kingdom is manifesting the ill effects of these false teachers and pretenders. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.
Especially, those of us who are up close, in the family, and watching the entire corrupt thing being played out. They are flagrantly putting their filthiness in our faces without any fear of God.
No excuse will work to diminish the continued and failed conduct of these goats. The Lord will pull up the tares in due season when it is time. Instead of excusing your idols your better off praying for these fallen ones, removing them from their positions, until repentance is truly authentic with reverence, maturity and obedience to the word of God.
This is not do as I say not as I do. The Almighty Father God will not be mocked.
This is the most disturbing stuff I’ve read in a LONG time. First of all, who among you has a stone to throw, since you are all obviously without SIN. How many liars, fornicators, thieves and homosexuals are in this audience that can sit back and berate this person? Last time I checked, only God Himself has the ability to look into a person’s heart.
As for PASTOR Scott’s teachings, have you actually sat down and gone thru the Bible with her and read that what is being taught IS correct? Theological scholars and historians can only admit that what is being taught is accurate. Everything she says points to God. But, because she speaks with an air of boldness, I suppose she’s too holy for you. And as far as money goes… 1 Cor 9:9. Preachers can take a salary. As a matter of fact, the priests did; they lived of the tithes. When the tithes came in, the priests had their salary. Then they would tithe to the higher priests, and so on; it would go all the way up the line.
HE WHICH SOWETH SPARINGLY SHALL REAP ALSO SPARINGLY; AND HE WHICH SOWETH BOUNTIFULLY SHALL REAP ALSO BOUNTIFULLY-2 Cor 9:6. This is a law of God. It does not mean, if you give one hundred dollars that you’re going to get back one thousand dollars. You will get back generously from the Lord, but in the way He desires to give it to you. It might be in wisdom and knowledge. 2 Cor 8:7 NIV-SEE THAT YOU ALSO EXCEL IN THIS GRACE OF GIVING. One thing that is troubling is when we see a person that does not excel in the grace of giving. Anyone that does not excel in the grace of giving, usually falls away.
It costs money to run cameras, lights, websites, staff and lots of other things associated with whats going on there. The woman works hard and does it for the Lord. She is teaching people- lots of people of the Bible. Shes a TEACHER. Dont you think a person should be paid for what they do? Or I suppose you all go to work for free too.
