Maybe Google 4.x counts for the search engine accesing your page for indexing.

I’ve noticed the “Google broswer” on my statistics too. I think it might be either completely and truely beta, or just the Google spidering system.

great article on browser usage and the analysis of the data. i find it humurous that there is a Google browser. although i wonder how it compares with Firefox. I’d like to mention that TGB doesn’t support Firefox and it gets me mad when I try to go on it with firefox. So I have to use IE. also, i think TGB is trying to kiss up to MS by designing around IE browser. They like that fact that Microsoft links to them and want to make sure they are pro-Microsoft.

BTW, I’m using IE now, but I am at work. so that’s my excuse.

Nice post. A lot of my post was “tongue-in-cheek,” but then again, that’s how I deal with lots of things.

Actually, the site I was referring to that I posted was not my own site. It’s the local government site that I am webmaster for. I didn’t call out the link because I didn’t want to further skew the results.

For my personal site, I get 30% alternative browsers, but Safari beats Firefox. Go figure.

As for me thinking that the Slashdot crew were trying to skew the results, when you read the replies, you get that feeling.
